Combining mechanical processes with classic graffiti materials and techniques, REVOK’s work centers on the pivot point between man and machine. The Artist’s Instruments explores this relationship, asking if the mechanized tools employed by REVOK are an extension of the artist, or the artists in and of themselves. Join REVOK as he discusses his work, process, and philosophy with legend Lee Quiñones, considered the single most influential artist to emerge from the New York City subway art movement.
The Artist’s Instruments is organized by the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit with curatorial and exhibition support from Library Street Collective. This exhibition is supported by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
