MOCAD is proud to act as host for the Dance for Dilla event as part of the DillaWorld 2023 weekend. Featuring the first live public activation of Dilla’s lost and recently restored MPC 2000 by Nick Speed, sharing unheard tracks and samples, the evening moves into a dance party with DJ sets from Dez, Shigeto, + Drummer B. All hosted by Boog Brown. Celebrate the legacy of James “Dilla” Yancey, Detroit treasure, pioneer, and icon with us.
