Groups + Tours
Large Groups
MOCAD is a great place to meet friends, visit with family, or go on a field trip! We’re happy to host your large group, but please contact Visitor Services at 313.832.6622 or info@mocadetroit.org so we can prepare for your visit and advise you of what’s going on at MOCAD that day. If you plan on exploring the galleries yourself, there is no additional charge for groups of any size. If you’re looking to plan a tour, please fill out the request form on this page, and someone will reach out to coordinate with you.
GROUPS OF 20 OR MORE MUST MAKE ARRANGEMENTS WITH VISITOR SERVICES.
Staff Led Tours
MOCAD’s Visitor Experience staff will lead a 45-minute overview of MOCAD’s exhibitions and Mike Kelley’s Mobile Homestead. They will accompany you through each exhibition and answer any questions you have during your visit. Please plan your visit at least 5 business days in advance by contacting us to guarantee a staff member is available.
Please reach out to tours@mocadetroit.org for pricing and to schedule a tour. This price includes the admission cost, leaving you free to continue exploring the museum after your tour ends. Staff-led Tours require a deposit to hold the date and remaining costs due upon arrival.
Please be advised that MOCAD is unable to accommodate day-of tour requests. Please see our Programs + Events page for public tour dates.
Curator Tours
MOCAD Curators are experts at sharing background information about the artists and artworks, providing social and historical context, and creating connections with everyday life. They will guide you through the galleries, sharing insights on everything from the installation process to individual artist’s techniques.
Please plan your visit at least 10 business days in advance by reaching out to Visitor Services so we can guarantee that a staff member is available. Curator Tours require a $50 deposit and a $15 fee per person, due the day of your tour.
