Screening: I Heard It Through The Grapevine

Cinema Detroit and MOCAD present the newly restored documentary I Heard It Through the Grapevine. James Baldwin retraces his time in the South during the Civil Rights Movement, reflecting with his trademark brilliance and insight on the passage of more than two decades. The film is even more relevant now than when it was originally released in 1982.

The film will be screened twice on two separate dates. We encourage you to reserve your spot in advance due to high attendance at previous screenings. Doors will open 30 minutes before the film starts. Feel free to explore the Museum beforehand or hang out in the Café to purchase a beverage or cocktail for the film.
