Groups + Tours

MOCAD is a great place to meet up with friends, visit with family, or go on a field trip. We’re happy to host your large groups, but ask that you reach out to info@mocadetroit.org first so we can be prepared for your visit. Visiting with a group incurs no additional charge, but tours are available for an additional fee. Deposits can be accepted over the phone or via the donation page on our website.

STAFF LED TOURS

MOCAD’s Visitor Experience staff lead a 60-minute overview of MOCAD’s exhibitions and Mike Kelley’s Mobile Homestead, accompanying you through each exhibition to answer any questions you have during your visit. The Staff Led Tours can be booked for a $30 deposit, and a $15 fee per person, due the day of your tour.

CURATOR TOURS

MOCAD Curators are experts at sharing background information about the artists and artworks, providing social and historical context, and creating connections with everyday life. They will guide you through the galleries, sharing insights on everything from the install process to individual artist’s processes. Curator Tours can be booked for a $50 deposit, and a $15 fee per person, due the day of your tour.

School Groups + K-12

MOCAD is happy to host school groups and field trips. School groups are free to visit the museum at their leisure, but must arrange with our Visitor Services team ahead of time, and students must be accompanied by at least one adult per 15 children. The $10 per person suggested donation, which can be donated ahead of time online or at the desk at the time of your visit.

Tours are also available to school groups and can be focused on a particular artist or exhibition if desired. Please indicate in your email if you would like your tour tailored in such a way.

Outside food and drink is not allowed at MOCAD or MOCAD Café. At this time we are unable to accommodate groups for meals.

Large groups of 20 or more are required to make arrangements with the Visitor Services department in advance. Call us at 313.832.6622 or email Peter at psliwa@mocadetroit.org to discuss options for large group visits.

For special pricing for corporate, school, or nonprofit groups, please contact Peter at psliwa@mocadetroit.org for rates and offers.
