As we continue to expand our presentation of live music, sound, and performance, MOCAD is proud to partner with Concert of Colors to welcome the renowned Kronos Quartet to Detroit. This presentation is part of our growing commitment to music programming, building on recent collaborations, including The Detroit Regenerative Orchestra, and the launch of The Sounding Room — a new rotating residency and experimental platform hosted in the garage of the Mike Kelley Mobile Homestead. Together, these initiatives reflect the Museum’s ongoing investment in presenting innovative musical experiences that resonate with our mission of supporting contemporary artistic practices.
In partnership with Concert of Colors, this performance is free to the public. Admission to the Museum will be discounted for performance goers.

Kronos Quartet
San Francisco’s Kronos Quartet has spent decades at the forefront of revolutionizing the string quartet into a living art form that responds to the people and issues of our time. For Concert of Colors, they perform “Glorious Mahalia,” a new work honoring gospel queen Mahalia Jackson.
