Building upon the incredible legacy of sound in Detroit, this interactive speaker-making workshop will provide teens with the basics of how sound is amplified and recorded. Teens will build and create their own mini-speaker from easy to find materials, furthering their understanding of the intersection of art, science, and technology. Instructor Reuben Telushkin is a Highland Park-based multimedia artist and social activist working in sound, tangible interaction, installation, and performance. This workshop is presented in partnership with Michigan State University’s Science Gallery Detroit.
