Bassist, singer, and songwriter Meshell Ndegeocello explores the politics of race and sex, among other topics. Her latest album Ventriloquism (2018), saw her reinterpreting formative R&B classics of the ’80s and early ’90s.
The Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD) and MeanRed Productions are excited to present HOT LOGIC, a new outdoor concert series offering a stellar lineup of musical artists from Detroit and beyond. On four evenings in July, the Museum will open its front doors and back yard creating an immersive art experience featuring outdoor performances, local food vendors, full service bars, and exclusive access to MOCAD’s exhibitions.
MOCAD’s parking lot will be closed on Hot Logic concert dates. Parking is available at the Wayne State garage located across the street from MOCAD at Studio One apartments or at other paid lots in the area. We strongly encourage ride sharing or biking to HOT LOGIC.
No outside food or beverage allowed.
No video recorders and no cameras with detachable lenses will be allowed on the event grounds.
If you are at all unsure about the equipment you’re planning to bring, leave it at home.
Please keep in mind that there will be absolutely no re-entry into the event.
By entering the event grounds you will be agreeing to allow your image to possibly be photographed or filmed for the use of the producers. You are not allowed to bring in video cameras or professional-quality cameras (NO cameras with detachable lenses).
All attendees will be searched upon entering the MOCAD grounds. The following items will not be allowed: Tents, flags, lounge chairs, musical instruments, knives or other weapons, video cameras, audio recording devices, professional cameras (NO cameras with detachable lenses), selfie sticks, pets, outside food and beverages, drugs or drug paraphernalia.
A valid government-issued photo ID is required to purchase alcoholic beverages. Attendees will need to show their ID to security personnel in order to receive a wristband that will allow them to purchase alcohol.
Hot Logic concerts will take place outdoors, rain or shine.
All acts advertised have confirmed their appearance. However, acts are subject to change without notice.
Lost and Found is located at the admission desk inside of MOCAD. Lost and found items must be claimed within one week and may be picked up at the MOCAD admission desk during regular business hours.
