Tobak’s collectable book Contact High: A Visual History of Hip-Hopfeatures rare outtakes from over 100 photoshoots alongside interviews and essays from industry legends, taking readers on a chronological journey from old-school to alternative hip-hop and from analog to digital photography. The talk includes a viewing of a documentary short film featuring a selection of Contact High’s photographers at work and in conversation, including Barron Claiborne, Brian “B+” Cross, Eric Coleman, Estevan Oriol, Jorge Peniche, Jamel Shabazz, Janette Beckman, Joe Conzo, Jack McKain, Dana Scruggs, and Danny Clinch.
