GATHERING: HORANGIS HAPPY HOUR @ MOCAD
HORANGIS HAPPY HOUR @ MOCAD
Saturday, November 6, 5-7 pm
MOCAD would like to introduce you to Horangis. Horangi means ‘tiger’ in Korean, and Detroit artist Mike Han added an S to it to make it plural in a very Michigan kind of way. Tigers are the national animal of Korea, Detroit’s own Tigers baseball team also reside here, creating a bridge between the two cultures as a way of uniting Korean-Detroiters. Join the Horangis in viewing the works of Rey Jeong’s Screaming Yellow, as well as the Parallax Conjunctures exhibition by Denmark based South Korean artist Jane Jin Kaisen. Stay, connect, and learn about the local Korean creative community with host artist Mike Han.
